AGATHODAIMON: Romania's METAL MANIAC FESTIVAL III Cancelled

July 24, 2008

German black/death/gothic metallers AGATHODAIMON have released the following statement regarding their previously announced July 26, 2008 appearance at the Metal Maniac Festival III in Baia-Mare, Romania:

"We have to announce that the festival probably will be delayed and instead will take place late August/early September (an exact date will be given as soon as possible).
So all people who wanted to visit the festival next Saturday, the 26th of July, don't travel there! Check the official website at metal-maniac.org or subscribe to our newsletter at www.agathodaimon.de if you haven't already to receive the latest news.

"The reasons for this change are many — there has been a lot of trouble and bad luck concerning the local organisation on one hand during the past weeks (one of the important reasons; we still didn't receive the necessary flight tickets even until this morning, although we are scheduled to fly today),and it also seems that our guitarist Jan caught infectious mononucleosis yesterday, which could lead to a last-minute cancellation from our side. So the organizer proposed to delay the festival and to work on the things that went wrong so far. I know this is an unlucky situation for all people involved, including us — we're still busy working in the studio on 'Phoenix', and had to take a bunch of days off to make this festival happen in the beginning. We went through a lot of work to ensure delivering a good gig and are quite frustrated ourselves about how things have turned out at the moment. We were looking forward to playing the gig — but we hope that we can find a mutual agreement as soon as possible to reschedule the festival and finally visit our Romanian fans."

Vocalist Jonas Iscariot recently left AGATHODAIMON. A replacement singer has not yet been announced.

AGATHODAIMON's last album, "Serpent's Embrace", was released in 2004 via Nuclear Blast Records.
